Sikkim 97 samples have been detected as Delta Variant of Covid-19.

Gangtok, July 19 : Out of 98 Covid-19 positive samples from Sikkim sent for Genome Sequencing, 97 samples have been detected as Delta Variant of Covid-19. This information was shared by Hon’ble Health Minister, Government of Sikkim, Dr. M.K. Sharma in an urgent press conference convened today at Tashiling Secretariat, Gangtok.   The Hon’ble Minister was joined by DG-cum-Secretary, Health, Dr. Pempa T. Bhutia. The Hon’ble Minister informed that the random samples (98 numbers) had been sent for Genome Sequencing to National Institute of Biomedical Genomics in  Kalyani, West Bengal, on the 23rd of June, 2021. Education Department Launch Centralized Online Admission Portal for Class XI, ATTC & CCCT

Gangtok, July 09, 2021: Education Department, Government of Sikkim has launched web portal for centralized online admission for Class XI, ATTC and CCCT students of Sikkim. The portal was launched by the Additional Chief Secretary Sri GP Upadhyaya in the presence of Secretary Sri Anil Raj Rai, Director Secondary Education Mrs Hondala Gyaltsen and SPD Samagra Shiksha & Director Elementary Education Sri Bhim Thatal. This initiative of the Department to admit students in Class XI, ATTC and CCCT through the online method has been taken because of the virtual mode in practice now due to the pandemic. It is also to centralise the entire admission system and create database of the students seeking admission in different schools and diploma institute and further streamline the flow of admission and maintain records. Vietnam’s Hongbang International University reaches out to medical aspirants from Northeast India

Gangtok, 06 July 2021: Vietnam's Hongbang International University (HIU) has partnered with Aieraa Overseas Studies as its India partner for seeking medical aspirants from India. The Ho Chi Minh City-based university is welcoming medical education aspirants from India, especially Northeast India.  This is the first time that a Vietnamese educational institute has tied with an Indian organisation for students in India.
