State level Panchayat Sammelan at Karfectar

Namchi, 4th December (IPR): The Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang attended the State level Panchayat Sammelan at SIRD and PR, today. He was accompanied by Deputy Speaker SLA, Shri Sangay Lepcha, Minister for RDD Shri Sonam Lama, Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, Chairpersons, Advisors, officials and Panchayats at large.  Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister announced that from the coming years the Panchayat Sammelan will be a three-day affair and will assist the officials to listen to the grievances of the Panchayats and with proper teamwork concrete solutions of the grievances can be sought after. He also said that medical allowances, pension, emergency funds for panchayats will also be looked into. Education Department Launch Centralized Online Admission Portal for Class XI, ATTC & CCCT

Gangtok, July 09, 2021: Education Department, Government of Sikkim has launched web portal for centralized online admission for Class XI, ATTC and CCCT students of Sikkim. The portal was launched by the Additional Chief Secretary Sri GP Upadhyaya in the presence of Secretary Sri Anil Raj Rai, Director Secondary Education Mrs Hondala Gyaltsen and SPD Samagra Shiksha & Director Elementary Education Sri Bhim Thatal. This initiative of the Department to admit students in Class XI, ATTC and CCCT through the online method has been taken because of the virtual mode in practice now due to the pandemic. It is also to centralise the entire admission system and create database of the students seeking admission in different schools and diploma institute and further streamline the flow of admission and maintain records. Cabinet approves Revised Cost Estimates for strengthening of Transmission and Distribution in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, in a major step towards economic development of the States of Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim through strengthening of Intra - State Transmission and Distribution systems has approved the Revised Cost Estimate (RCE) of Comprehensive Scheme for Strengthening of Transmission & Distribution in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim at an estimated cost of Rs. 9129.32 crore. The scheme is being implemented through POWERGRID, a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under Ministry of Power in association with Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh and is targeted to be commissioned in phased manner by December 2021 for awarded scope of works and 36 months from RCE approval for un-awarded packages. Ireland suspends AstraZeneca Covid vaccine over blood clot concerns Ireland is suspending use of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine against Covid as a precautionary measure following further reports of blood clots in people who have received it, this time from Norway. The deputy chief medical officer, Dr Ronan Glynn, said Ireland’s advisory body on vaccines had recommended that deployment of the AstraZeneca jab should be “temporarily deferred” with immediate effect. He stressed, though, that there was no proof that the vaccine had caused blood clots. EWS Applicants Department of Personnel and Training has issued Office Memorandum No. 36039/1/2019-Estt.(Res),dated 31.01.2019, for providing 10% reservation in Direct Recruitment in civil posts and services in the Government of India, for persons belonging to the EWSs who, are not covered under the scheme of reservation for SCs, STs and OBCs, and whose family has gross annual income below Rs 8.00 lakh (Rupees eight lakh only) from all sources i.e. salary, agriculture, business, profession, etc. for the financial year prior to the year of application. Sikkimes woman in Delhi tested COVID-19 positive

A 37-year-old woman from West Sikkim, who was undergoing dialysis at Pushpawati Singhania Research Institute Hospital in Delhi over chronic kidney failure, has tested positive for COVID-19  According to reports, one Sikkimese lady who was staying at DKK Bhawan in Delhi has contracted Covid-19.  Chief Minister Shri PS Golay confirms the Covid-19 positive case of a Sikkimese lady who was in Delhi for treatment. He informs that she is being given full care at the hospital and that all the people at DKK Bhawan have been quarantined. She is now admitted in hospital there and is in a stable condition.
